My philosophy of counseling is grounded in the belief that clients are the experts on their own lives and deserve a space where they feel heard, respected, and supported without judgment. My own lived experiences and journey through counseling have shaped my understanding of the importance of creating a safe and authentic therapeutic relationship. I believe counseling should help clients better understand themselves, develop meaningful coping skills, and build a life that feels aligned with who they are rather than simply focused on surviving.
My approach is primarily grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and incorporates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) within a person-centered framework. I believe therapy should be collaborative and individualized, allowing treatment to move at the client’s pace while remaining focused on their goals and needs. As a counselor, I strive to bring warmth, honesty, humor, and authenticity into the therapeutic relationship while maintaining professionalism and appropriate boundaries.
As I continue developing as a counselor, I recognize that my philosophy will continue to evolve through clinical experience, ongoing education, supervision, and self-reflection. My goal is to walk alongside clients as they navigate challenges, develop greater self-awareness, and work toward a life that feels meaningful and authentic to them.
